Nason Davis Ltd is a completely unique organisation; no other timber company has a UK office, an Estonian office and a Japanese office. The range of our cumulative timber knowledge and experience is unrivalled.

We represent many of the leading sawmills in Sweden, Norway, Latvia & Estonia; we have also good contacts in Germany, Poland and Russia, plus some representation for Clears in Douglas Fir from B.C.

Our markets are primarily the UK and Japan.

We trade in a wide range of products; from high grade Clears, including Laminated joinery products in Softwood and Oak to low grade pallet wood and packing material.

Within Europe we usually trade as Del Credere Agents for the Sellers; taking on the responsibility of insuring the Buyers against bankruptcy. We also provide finance for our UK Buyers by offering extended credit terms if required and Bill of Exchange facilities at market rates or other methods of credit. We can provide a currency service for our Buyers, both forward and spot if requested and can organise inland transport, sea freight, customs entries, import duties, Forestry Commission inspections and the like.

The founder of the Company, Stephen Nason, has now in excess of 40 years experience in the Softwood business including 17 years experience in Japan and has now visited Japan more than 70 times; there are very few people with such experience of the Japanese Softwood Trade in the whole of Europe. All our staff have between 25 and 45 years experience in the Timber Trade.

In Estonia we have a brilliant young team of 5 staff and are currently the largest exporter of Aspen/Alder in Estonia, shipping out in excess of 3000 m3 per month in pallet wood, bearer material and other similar Industrial items to the UK.

Nason Davis Ltd. and Nason Davis Eesti Oü have FSC^® and PEFC chain of custody.

Nason Davis Ltd. are members of the UK Timber Trade Federation,  our overseas business is conducted under TTF contracts.

We are conduct assured by the Timber Trade Federation.

We have in place an Ethical Trading Policy, Environmental Policy and a good, current Health & Safety regime, which was provided by Citation plc who have recently won the Queen's Award for Enterprise.

In Japan we have our own office in Ikeburukyo, a suburb of Tokyo, staffed by Japanese nationals. Here we also have a flat in true traditional Japanese style, complete with a Tatami room, Shoji screens and green tea sets! The flat serves as a base for our visiting UK staff.
